re:work

Tippi Hendren in THE BIRDS; Moschino, 2014.

In the Fall Fashion issue of New York Magazine, there was an editorial spread that caught my attention more than the average spread.  Studying magazines are routine for me, searching for new trends and styles and looking for the greatest fashion is something more innate.  September issues are the most important, for they showcase the most important season in fashion, Fall.

This issue did something different, something out of the ordinary.  Photographer Bobby Doherty created an innovative way to grab readers attention.  Different than the traditional spreads and advertisements from houses, Doherty inserted new season's collections into stills from iconic movies displaying the latest trends from each house.

Combining the Hollywood classics with the highest fashions go hand in hand.  Reworking stills to meet the modern trends is FLAWLESS.

Here are some of my favorites
Judy Garland in THE WIZARD OF OZ; Saint Laurent, 2014.
Catherine Deneuve in BELLE DU JOUR; Dries Van Noten, 2014.
Audrey Hepburn in CHARADE; Valentino, 2014.
Marilyn Monroe in GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES; Moschino, 2014.
Gwyneth Paltrow in THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS; Valentino, 2014.
Kristen Dunst in MARIE ANTOINETTE; Dior, 2014.
